Your heart-pumping expedition starts out with pick-up aboard open-air transportation, which will take you northward from your Punta Cana resort to the rugged terrain that’s tucked away in the hidden paths of the Macao area. When you’re there, you’ll be taken to the Wild Tiger adventure center, where you’ll be welcomed by friendly, bilingual guides who will be on hand to help you out during the best, most rip-roaring buggy ride in Punta Cana.
Choose to start at 9 a.m. and at noon, and select from three vehicle types — a single-seater to keep the fun to yourself, a double-seater to share the thrills with a companion, or a four-seater to trek as a family and take on the secluded jungle landscapes together. Whichever time or vehicle you choose, you’ll surely have the most intense time in the Dominican wilderness. Your knowledgeable guides will outfit you with the correct gear and give you a safety briefing, and all of these measures are designed to fully prepare you for an awesome journey ahead.

Visit an abandoned quarry and swim in a cave
As you continue feeding your need for speed, your Punta Cana buggies adventure will also take you toward an abandoned quarry, where you’ll have a wide open space to drive as fast as you’d like. This quarry is now completely devoid of marble and other minerals, so it has been left with an empty space that’s now designed as a circular shaped track. You know what that means — take your buggy for quite a spin, literally, and make as many donuts as you can, going as fast as you can!
After your quarry adventure, the area’s backroads and mountain tracks will continue being your highway. Put the pedal to the metal and traverse the full gamut of terrain that the place has to offer. But of course, all the maneuvering in the jungle is thirsty work, so you’ll have time to park for a water break and rehydrate from all the adventure. Then cool down from the tropical heat by visiting Taino Cave, a hidden geological wonder with healing waters emanating from the ground. Wind it down at the cave and feel free to splash and swim for about 15 minutes to refresh before the final leg of your all-terrain expedition.
Pass through Dominican villages and visit a plantation
After you’ve refreshed in the cave, return to your buggy and continue pressing that gas pedal as you zoom through the wilderness. There’s nothing more exciting than being behind the wheel and watching all the incredible scenery all around you, and this exhilarating excursion will continue ramping up all the pure, unadulterated exploration and excitement as you keep riding along the hidden jungle paths of Punta Cana, passing through villages where you just might see smiling children and locals waving at you.
Toward the end of the activity, you’ll have the chance to visit a working plantation, where you’ll get a chance to attend a coffee and cacao demonstration. Get a look at how the locals create two of the famous flavors of Dominican Republic — coffee and chocolate. A guide will give you plenty of cool information about the cacao fruits and how they become that delicious chocolate and how the beans become the coffee we all enjoy. When your off-road adventure wraps up, take your buggy back to the Wild Tiger adventure center, where your open-air transportation will be on standby to take you back to your resort.

Practical Information
- Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe-shoes. Avoid flip-flops and sandals!
